About Honeywell C7189R01 User Manual
The Honeywell C7189R01 is a temperature sensor or remote indoor temperature sensor that is commonly used with Honeywell thermostats. It is also known as a Honeywell Remote Indoor Sensor (RIS) or a Honeywell Indoor Temperature Sensor.
Here are some key points about the Honeywell C7189R01:
- Compatibility: The C7189R01 is compatible with a range of Honeywell thermostats, particularly those that support remote temperature sensing. It is often used with Honeywell's RedLINK-enabled thermostats.
- Function: This sensor is designed to measure the temperature at a location different from where the thermostat itself is installed. It provides a more accurate representation of the temperature in the space where it is placed, which can help the thermostat make better heating and cooling decisions.
- Wiring: It typically connects to the thermostat through a wired connection. The thermostat may have a designated port for this sensor.
- Installation: Installation involves placing the sensor in the desired location, away from drafts or other factors that might affect temperature readings. It should be wired to the thermostat following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Usage: The Honeywell C7189R01 is commonly used in residential and commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to improve temperature control and comfort in the building.
- RedLINK: If your thermostat supports Honeywell's RedLINK wireless technology, you may be able to use this sensor wirelessly. It depends on the specific thermostat model and compatibility.
Please note that the exact specifications and compatibility of this sensor may vary depending on the thermostat model and version you are using. It's always a good idea to consult the user manual or documentation provided by Honeywell for your specific thermostat to ensure proper installation and operation of the C7189R01 sensor.
This sensor monitors temperature and humidity in any indoor location and transmits it wirelessly to the thermostat. You can set the system to monitor temperature at the thermostat, or at the sensor location,
or use an average of both to optimize comfort throughout the home. The thermostat can accommodate and average temperature readings from as many as 6 sensors. When multiple sensors are installed, the thermostat can monitor temperature and humidity in separate locations, and you can set it to use different readings from different sensors. For example, one sensor can control humidification on the main level, while another controls
dehumidification in a crawl space. For more information, see the instructions provided with the thermostat.
Honeywell C7189R01 Install batteries and link sensor to thermostat
Install batteries, then enter Wireless Setup mode at the thermostat. Press and release the CONNECT button to link the wireless sensor to the thermostat.
Mount sensor in suitable location
Install sensor on an interior wall, about 4 to 6 feet above the floor. To ensure accurate temperature readings, choose a location away from air vents and not exposed to direct sunlight.
- Remove the wallplate and mount it 4 to 6 feet above the floor on an interior wall. Drill 3/16-inch holes for drywall, 7/32-inch for plaster.
- Attach sensor securely to wallplate as shown.
