LUX CAG1500 Operating Instuctions
The CAG1500 always displays the current time and room temperature. It also shows the day of the week and the current programming period, MORNING, DAY, NIGHT or NIGHT. The set temperature is displayed on the right side of the screen. Program changes or settings can be made with the thermostat housing on the wall or easily removed from the base plate.
SYSTEM MODES:
The mode switch has three positions COOL, HEAT and OFF . In winter, set the system switch to HEAT to control your heating system. In summer, set the COOL switch to control your air conditioner. In spring and autumn or with the windows open, you can turn off the switch.
UP/DOWN/CHANGE ARROW KEYS:
There are two arrow keys to the right of the device screen. They are used to adjust the set temperature and change other settings.
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT:
Pressing the arrow keys once adjusts the set temperature by one degree in the appropriate direction. Pressing the button will automatically move the setting in the appropriate direction.
CHANGING OTHER SETTINGS:
Usually, when there are multiple values to choose from, holding down one of the arrow keys will automatically move that setting. However, some settings need to be changed with one click.
DISPLAY ILLUMINATION:
Press the Bulb button to light up the display. Pressing another button keeps the screen on until no button is pressed for about 20 seconds.
FAN MODES:
The fan switch has three positions: ON, CLEAN, and AUTO. When you set the FAN switch to AUTO, your system fan will automatically turn on as needed for heating and cooling only. The CLEAN position ensures that your system fan performs at least its programmed minimum duty cycle. The default duty cycle requires it to run for 15 minutes every hour. Setting the FAN switch to the ON position runs continuously on your system fan. The FAN icon flashes whenever the fan is running.
SETTING THE TIME AND DAY:
Open the door in front of the thermostat. Turn the dial to the SET DAY / TIME position. You will see a display in the photo below with a flashing day of the week.
- Press UP to change day of week.
- Press NEXT to set the time; it will flash.
- Press UP or DOWN to change time of day.
After you have finished setting the day and time, turn the dial to RUN to return to normal operation or to a different position to continue programming.
HARDWARE RESET
This button opens your thermostat and reads the position of the option switch before the unit starts working normally. It is located on the back of the device's circuit board. It's a small rectangular component labeled S8 with a white button in the center.
SOFTWARE RESET
Use this front panel RESET to return all software and program settings to their default values. The jumper options are read and work according to their current position. SOFTWARE RESET is disabled when your thermostat is locked. To make reprogramming easier, copy your program to the table provided before using SOFTWARE RESET.
