Installation manual Wifi Thermostat Lux CS1
- Create an account and download the LUX Products App to your mobile devicet.
- Turn off the power at the circuit breaker to both your heating and cooling systems before performing any wiring and Now set your phone a side
- Confirm that your heating and cooling system is powered down by changing the temperature on your thermostat.
- You must remove the front of your old thermostat from its base. Your system is not compatible with CS1 If you see thelabels that say 120-240VAC or High Voltage.
- Use the cable labels provided to identify which cable is connected to each port on your old thermostat.
- Confirm that you have C-Wire. If so, please refer to the next page. If not, please go to page 10.
Installing with a C-wire
Before You Begin Turn off the power to your heating and cooling circuit breakers before attempting any wiring.
- Identify your system configuration (see connection see wiring diagrams in appendix). Possible configurations are: • conventional 1H/1C (Y, G, W, R, C) • conventional 2H/1C (Y, G, W, W2, R, C) • Single stage heat pump (Y, G, R , O / B, C) • Heat pump with auxiliary heating or dual fuel (Y, G, R, O / B, W, C) If you have only one R line, use the correct clamp. If you have a configuration other than those listed above, please contact LUX Technical Support for assistance with your installation
- Disconnect each cable from its connector - making sure it doesn't fall back against the wall.
- Remove the mounting screws from the old thermostat base. Remove the base from the wall.
- If you would like to use wall anchors or the trim plate, you can install them now., you can install them now.
- Separate CS1 from the base, peel off the bottom edge. Run the cable from your wall through the center hole of the CS1 base. Mount the base to the wall with the included mounting hardware.
- Following the labels on the terminals marked "conventional" on the thermostat base, loosen the screws and thread each labeled wire into the top hole of the appropriate terminal, tightening the screws.
- If you have RC and RH cables, remove the red cap on the left side of the connector pins. You can now proceed to step 2.8.
- Secure CS1 to its base. Once in place, return power to your heating and cooling system
- Once your thermostat is turned on, you can configure CS1 for your heating and cooling system and connect to a wireless network. Please continue with system setup
Installation without C-Wire using the LUX power wire cable (included)
Before You Begin Turn off the power to your heating and cooling circuit breakers before attempting any wiring.
- Based on your thermostat, confirm that you have one of the following system configurations:
- Conventional 1H/1C (Y, G, W, R)
- Conventional 2H/1C (Y,G,W1,W2,R) If you have a configuration other than those listed above, or if you have an electric oven, contact LUX Technical Support for assistance with your installation.
- Disconnect each cable from its connector - making sure it doesn't fall back against the wall.
- Remove the mounting screws from the old thermostat base. Remove the base from the wall.
- If you want to use decorative plates or wall anchors, you can install them now.
- Separate CS1 from the base, peel off the bottom edge. Run the cable from your wall through the center hole of the CS1 base. Mount the base to the wall with the included mounting hardware.
- Following the terminals labeled "Conventional" on the base of the thermostat, loosen the screws and thread each labeled wire into the top hole of each terminal.
- Secure CS1 to the bottom
- Open your oven - remove the door or panel and find the control panel or transformer. Usually, there should be four wires from the oven to the thermostat - Y, G, W, and R. If you have extra wires, leave them as is.
- Step 9:
- A) Disconnect the G-wire from your oven fan connector and plug the wire into the oven transformer connector
- B) Plug one end of the LUX supply cable into the empty fan terminal and the other end into the cooling terminal (with the Y wire).
- If you need to remove a panel or door, replace it now.
- Restore power to your heating and cooling system. If your system, including your thermostat, does not turn on, contact LUX Technical Support. Once CS1 is turned on, you can configure it for your heating and cooling system (page 21).
