Lux Products DMH100 FEATURES

  • This unit can be used with most gas, oil or electric 24 volt heating and air conditioning systems, gas millivolt heating systems and single stage heat pumps. Cannot be used with 120 volt heating systems or two stage heat pumps. Ask your dealer about other LUX thermostats to control this system.

DRY TEMPERATURE

MINIMUM OPERATING TIME 5 MIN / 2 MIN
Your thermostat has a built-in timer to protect your compressor. Timer enforces a Minimum power-up time is 5 minutes. You can change this minimum time to 2 minutes. to To do this, place a jumper labeled W3 on both pins. Lux DMH100 Installation and Operation

Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation.

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • #1 Phillips screwdriver (small)
  • Drill with 3/16-in. (4.8mm) bit

THERMOSTAT LOCATION

For replacement installations, install the new thermostat in place of the old one, unless the conditions below indicate otherwise. For a fresh installation, follow the instructions below.

  1. Place the thermostat on an interior wall, about 5 feet from the floor, in a room that is used frequently.
  2. Do not install it in places with unusual heating conditions, such as: B.: under direct sunlight; near lights, radios, televisions, radiators, registers, or fireplaces; near the hot water pipe in the wall; near the stove on the other side of the wall.
  3. Do not place it under unusual cooling conditions, such as: B.: on walls separating unheated spaces; or run from stairs, doors, or windows.
  4. Do not place in a humid place. This can cause corrosion, which shortens the life of the thermostat.
  5. Avoid locations with poor air circulation, such as B.: in a corner or alcove; or behind an open door.
  6. Do not install the unit until all construction and painting work is complete.
  7. This thermostat does not require leveling.

REMOVING THE OLD THERMOSTAT

  1. Remove the cover from the old thermostat. Most are click type and download only. Some have side locking screws. This needs to be loosened. Turn off the furnace and air conditioning power; Then continue with the following steps.
  2. Look for the letters printed near the terminal. Attach a label (attached) to each identification wire. Remove and mark the wires one by one. Be careful not to let the wires fall back against the wall.
  3. Unscrew all the screws on the old thermostat and remove it from the wall

MOUNTING THE UNIT ON THE WALL

  1. Press the button on the top of the thermostat and turn the body away from the base and down to release the body from the base
  2. Remove the insulation 3/8 inch (9.5mm) from the end of the cable and remove any corrosion.
  3. Fill wall holes with non-combustible insulation to prevent current from affecting the thermostat.
  4. Hold the base against the wall and run the cord wherever it is convenient for wiring. Route the wires under the terminal block. Apply the base for the best look (to hide traces of the old thermostat). Attach the base to the wall with the two screws provided.

INSTALLING BATTERIES/ MAINTENANCE

This device requires a battery to run on your stove and save your memory. Replace the battery when LO BATT appears on the screen or at least once a year.

  1. Remove the new battery from its carton.
  2. Remove the thermostat housing as described during installation.
  3. Remove the used battery.
  4. Insert two new Energizer® or DURACELL® AA size alkaline batteries into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the polarity marking shown inside the compartment.
  5. Put the body back against the wall. Hang the lower body on the base, turn the body upside down and click the body into the base. Installation is complete. Make sure you turn the heater and/or air conditioner back on. Within 90 seconds the thermostat will start displaying the room temperature.
  6. Press the TEMPERATURE UP or DOWN button to display the current TEMPERATURE SETTING.
  7. Press the TEMPERATURE UP or DOWN button again until the desired temperature is displayed. After two seconds, the screen returns to display the current room temperature.
  • In winter, set the system switch to HEAT to control your heating system.
  • In summer, set the COOL switch to control your air conditioner.
  • In spring and autumn or when the windows are open, you can set the system shutdown to OFF.
  • If you set the FAN switch to AUTO, your system fan will automatically turn on during heating and cooling.
  • If you set the FAN switch to ON, your system fan will continue to run even without heating or cooling.
